On December 22, 2017, China textile industry federation convened the Identification meeting of marine biomedical materials key technology and industrialization. This meeting is organized by Qingdao Bright Moon Group, JIAXING University and Qingdao Bright Moon Biomedical Materials Co Ltd.

The experts inspected the production site, reviewed the identification materials and observed the products. The director of State Key Laboratory of seaweed active substances, professor Qin Yimin, made a work report. After discussion, all agreed that: this project has independent intellectual property rights, the overall technology reached the international advanced level, and the project has good economic and social benefits and the market prospect. The expert committee agreed that the project was approved.

The project effectively improved the purity of medical level alginate fiber, reduced the production cost, and laid the foundation for alginate application in whole industry chain; using modification technology of alginate oxidation and esterification to get stable blending of alginate and chitosan. The project completed the industrial chain from alginate extraction, wet spinning, nonwovens processing to medical dressing, facial mask, hygiene products and other terminal products, achieved large-scale production of medical alginate, alginate fiber, nonwovens and dressings.
